Craft House Coffee

The heart of every great cafe has to be the coffee and we searched far and wide to find the best premium coffee out there. Introducing Craft House Coffee which only provides high-grade, ethical 100% Arabica beans, and knows exactly where the beans come from. No exceptions, no short cuts. And what’s best? The coffee is all roasted at farmsteads on the South Downs so it is also as local as we could find. All our staff have been barista-trained by Craft House themselves.

Mamoosh

Mamoosh Bakery is situated in the local town of Newhaven and is the creation of chef Einat Chalmers. Einat was born in Israel and trained as a chef in New York.

The heart of the Mamoosh offering is the most delicious fluffy pitta breads which they supply to us for our wonderful Middle Eastern boards, along with their handmade dips.

J Cocoa

James is one of only 16 chocolatiers in the UK who makes his artisan chocolate from bean to bar. Cocoa beans are imported ethically straight to Jame’s base in Hassocks where he creates incredible chocolates, truffles and hot chocolate shavings. We used J Cocoa products in our baking but also sell these beautiful products in our little shop.

W’zis

This cute dog treat brand was created by a clever group of friends Drew and Russell who are based in Brighton. 100% plant based and super healthy, we stock a range of W’izis products, and always have a little free treat at the till for your wage-tailed friend.

Infinity Foods

Infinity Foods, based in Brighton, are our go-to for all our whole food products. We believe that food tastes better when great raw products are used and this is where we source all our oats, flours, nuts, seeds, flours, oils, honey and more.

Abbie Hart Cards

Abby is a local artist who is very inspired by her love of rural Sussex, with an emphasis on paintings of dogs and horses. We stock a range of her original cards which make perfect choices for a range of occasions.

Holy Cow Ice Cream

Holy Cow is an award-winning, artisan ice cream made just a couple of miles from Blue Door Cafe. Powered by passion and founded on principles of fairness and cooperation in the workplace, this independent brand champions the best of flavours and quality.

Holy Cow has a menu bursting with options for all including vegetarians and vegans alike with no compromise on quality and taste. We stock a range of flavours which we also change regularly so there’s always plenty of choice.

WE’RE DOG FRIENDLY

Bryony and Emma, the Blue Door Cafe, are HUGE dog lovers and so welcome you to bring your furry friends to visit too. There are some stunning walks in the area and seven acres of private gardens at Michelham Priory, so enjoy a stroll and then come visit us to refuel.

There’s a dog treat for every canine visitor and a range of W’izis dog treats if you want to buy them a little treat!

The Vintage Shop

If you like the style of Blue Door Cafe, then you’ll be thrilled to know that we also have a vintage homeware shop within the cafe carefully curated by owner and designer Emma Basden. We will also be selling the amazing Craft House Coffee, Jo Cocoa’s handmade chocolate, W’izis dog treats, Abby Hart Cards, Blue Door Granola, scented candles and more.

Kids Corner

We want you to come to our cafe and be able to relax, enjoy something yummy whilst your kids are well entertained. And we have also thought about refueling your young ones with lovely pack lunches – choose a sandwich, a Pip organic juice, pop in a baby bel, something crunchy and a homemade biscuit!
